Nokia 與 Samsung 達成全新 5G 專利授權協議

今日 Nokia Corporation 宣布與 Samsung 達成 5G 專利交叉授權協議，授權 Samsung 使用 Nokia 的 5G 基本專利與其他技術。是次協議接替原於2022年底到期之舊協議，本年一月一日生效，Samsung 將向 Nokia 分期支付專利費用，有效期長達數年。

鑑於合約內容完全保密，外界無從得知合作金額、專利數量、授權年期等資訊。根據新聞稿，現時 Nokia 擁有約20000個專利組合，當中超過4500個屬 5G 網絡必備專利技術組合，而授權業務為 Nokia 長年科技研發帶來重要回報。

Nokia Technologies 業務總裁 Jenni Lukander 表示:

“Samsung is a leader in the smartphone industry, and we are delighted to have reached an amicable agreement with them. The agreement gives both companies the freedom to innovate, and reflects the strength of Nokia’s patent portfolio, decades-long investments in R&D and contributions to cellular standards and other technologies.”

向微軟出售流動裝置業務後，Nokia 重整企業方向，逐步退出消費者市場，改為專注發展網絡事業，其後收購 Alcatel Lucent 擴張固網技術業務及增加專利數量，並把著名美國 Bell Labs (貝爾實驗室) 納入旗下。近年 Nokia 已經成為世界上主要 5G 網絡設備及方案供應商，同時持有大量手提電話重要專利技術。
